My daughter has a rare genetic syndrome and we started seeing Christine in January 2018. Not only is she a great therapist but she also has this ability to build a great relationship with kids.

No one is capable of getting my daughter in those positions without her crying, but Christine can do almost anything to Elia. She plays with her, she sings to her and Elia doesn't even realize that she is working.

Elia has made TREMENDOUS progress since we have started and I can't wait until our next intensive session. Christine also has a lot of knowledge in anything related to child development. She is really professional, full of resources, and has a huge heart.

We are really lucky to have her as our therapist. We will never thank you enough Christine.

Christine couldn't be more loving and passionate for what she does.

My son has quad CP. He's 21 months and we've been seeing Christine for ABM intensives for almost 1 year now. We had nothing but good experiences with her. Already in the first intensive, Ethan, who had stopped babbling for a couple of months, restarted to babble and was using new sounds for the first time. He has only improved since then and every intensive brought some other positive changes.

Even when Ethan is not very collaborative, Christine comes up with ideas on how to work with him in different positions and get him engaged in his lessons. Her creativity is great.

Thanks for all the great work you do, Christine! We are so fortunate to have you in Montreal!

Christine came to Kingston and worked with my daughter for four days, 2 sessions a day. I am absolutely amazed at the connection she had with my daughter, Faith will let you know if she likes you or not. She loved Christine. Since Faith's surgery and cardiac arrests we have never seen her move so much with so much range of motion than we did in the past four days.

Faith is usually very high tone (high spasticity and dystonia). We definitely cannot wait to work with her again and I am so excited to she how far she comes with her. I would definitely recommend this approach after what we witnessed as opposed to daily forced exercises with your child. So happy we found her (thanks Linda xo). Can't wait until next time.

In just a short amount of time, it was clear that Christine's work was effectively decreasing my son`s high muscle tone caused by cerebral palsy. This provided him with much more freedom in his movements and much more freedom to explore movement possibilities. We frequently see him ''do something new'' and gain in his gross motor skills following ABM lessons.

Christine`s ability to connect with the children she works with is remarkable. In just two short series of lessons, my son developed a bond with her and is extremely fond of her. We have now been seeing Christine L'Abbé for over a year and they continue to have a lovely, trusting, warm relationship.

It is beautiful to see my son have such a beautiful relationship with someone who is helping him make connections with what his body can do. Christine L'Abbé is a calm, kind and compassionate soul and a very competent practitioner and we are very lucky to have her in Ottawa.

I encourage anyone who has a child with special needs, a loved one who is recovering from a neuromuscular disorder or anyone who just wants a better mind body connection to see Christine and discover the ABM method.

We turned to ABM and Christine in hopes of it helping our daughter Luna be the best version of herself as she lives with cerebral palsy.

After only a few sessions, her alertness, enhanced posture and improved range of motion were noticeable to all, including family and doctors. Christine is patient, caring and passionate. You can truly see the love she has for these kids and the urgency to help them. Following Anat’s techniques she truly helped our daughter achieve new goals we had been working on for weeks. Her ability to be guided by the child, using ABM to awaken parts of our daughter's brain was not only fascinating but miraculous.

She often told us Luna has an “amazing brain” with such excitement. At first, we were taken back, as parents of a child with severe brain damage, “amazing brain” is not something that crosses our mind when describing our daughter but as she would move Luna, limb by limb, vertebrae by vertebrae, her body responded, and with Christine’s guidance her abilities improved.

Our views on our daughters' brain damage has changed. She indeed has an “amazing brain” and we will keep learning new skills and push neuroplasticity through ABM. We are forever grateful to Christine for our sessions and hope she can use her technique,  compassion and skill to aide as many children and adults with special needs.

We have been bringing our son, who has Down Syndrome, to see Christine for lessons in Montreal for nearly 8-9 months. Christine is very warm and calming presence, and she has developed a very good relationship with our son who is almost 3 years old.

Over the course of that period, the changes and progress we have seen are truly amazing. We feel that with ABNM he is more and more able to tap into his full potential, with movement, gross and fine motor skills, as well as with his cognitive abilities. Every time he has lessons, he immediately can manifest new things and shows new learning!

Christine is very patient, and very skilled with children and our son immediately trusted her. She explains everything very well, and is always open to questions and discussions. We are truly grateful to have found someone like Christine!

My 13-year-old son has ADD and we have tried countless things to help him.  This summer we had numerous lessons with Brooke in the hopes of seeing some improvement.  Unlike a physical challenge, the differences were not readily noticeable.  However, when he started school again in the fall, I heard comments from 4 key educators indicating they noticed a significant positive change in his maturity level and in handling situations in school and they wondered what we had done.  I believe his ABM lessons have made a wonderful impact on him!

Linda, Winnipeg - MN

Brooke is great to work with, she is professional and truly cares about her clients. I love how more aware I am of how my body moves and that I now recognize when I am wasting energy with unnecessary tension. I have more energy now after only a few treatments!

My wife recommended I go see Michelle  for a number of chronic injuries that I have been struggling to manage.

Michelle put me at ease instantly, and thoroughly explained how she approaches healing and gained my trust within minutes.

Results were slow to come, but she stressed patience and doing less where I had always tried to do more.

It has been 5 weeks since my last session with her, and I am now seeing the results she told me would come... patience, persistence and focus have allowed me to find a better way to move... I am enjoying continuing to implement what she was able to teach me in only a few visits.
Thanks Michelle, it has been a real pleasure to work with you.

I had no idea what ABM was until I met Michelle.  I have reoccurring neck pain. It's usually triggered by stress and it manifests itself in incredible pain that radiates from between my shoulder blades through my upper neck and usually leads to a migraine that can take up to a week to settle down, and required time off work and bed rest.  Up until now my only relief came from chiropractic adjustments which involved aggressive deep tissue manipulation followed by an aggressive adjustment.  I will admit that it would eventually heal but it would take a minimum of 4 days for the pain to subside.  I was pleasantly surprised when I first went to Michelle with this issue, she was very gentle, they were small micro movements that brought incredible awareness to how I was moving and where I was blocked.  It was these tiny gentle movements that brought almost instant relief, and by the next morning the pain and tension were distant memories.  Michelle has a very calm and gentle way of discovering the blockage that is causing pain and a very natural approach to bringing awareness to the body while it makes new connections and finds freedom in movement.  Whenever I have been to see Michelle I am always left feeling lighter and my body seems to move with greater ease.  I will continue to see Michelle and would recommend this practice to anyone, as I believe every body can benefit from ABM.

I have had the pleasure of working with Michelle in my pursuit to better health after the birth of my second child.

I initially became connected with her as a way to kick start my fitness goals. She introduced me to the world of hypopressives followed by her work as an ABM practitioner which I found to be quite miraculous. Michelle is easy going, friendly and is always committed to supporting and assisting her clients to a higher level of wellbeing. Michelle is inspiring to me in the way that she is always searching for other ways to help people when the traditional methods fall short. If you get a chance to work with her, you won't look back. I highly recommend her group FS classes.

"Heidi's ABMNM Transformational Movement class was an adjustment for me, as I am used to pushing myself in yoga and stretching, sometimes to injury. She guides you through the concept of small movements, and reminds you if you're going too far or fast. My sciatica is gone after 3 classes, and my hips feel even for the first time in years. A lot of the tension related to clenching my jaw and computer posture has really been reduced. I'm moving easier, not overcompensating, and I'm pleasantly surprised when I'm anticipating pain and it's not there!"

Linda, Montreal - QC

"Heidi is a truly gifted teacher of movement and somatic body experience. Her lessons she presents are skillfully communicated through space and time to establish unity within our own bodies as well as community with each other!”

Keri, Montreal - QC

"After Heidi’s class last night I had the best night’s sleep in months!

Thank you Heidi!   I look forward to more classes!”

Judy, Montreal - QC

"Thanks again Carolyn! I think you may help to get me through the COVID winter that lies ahead! My back and even my pelvic floor seemed to benefit. My lower back was actually in pain when I first lay down on the floor at the start of the class. By the end, I felt no pain".

I met Laura Friesen purely by accident, and I'm so happy I did!

I'd only recently even heard of the benefits of NeuroMovement, and Laura was so warm and knowledgeable, that I was excited to see if it helped some long term issues I'd had with the right side of my body.

Laura was amazing! I felt as light as a feather when she had finished. The real surprise came later that day when I'd returned home. I'd completely forgotten that I never swing my right arm while walking. Only my left. I laughed out loud when I suddenly realized both arms were swinging as I walked!

I highly recommend Laura for her peaceful and competent manner, and especially for her expertise. She is a gift!

"I started working with Michelle Mark to explore the chronic pain I was experiencing as the result of an old skiing accident. Over the course of several months, I was able to participate in a 1:1 in-person session and many 1:1 virtual sessions, attend several in-person group lessons and to subscribe to her movement library. With Michelle’s expert guidance, I began to explore new ways of moving my body that felt safe and comfortable for the first time since my accident. Through daily mindful movement practices, my range of motion began to improve and my experience of my pain began to shift. I started to feel hopeful that I could reclaim my mobility and participate more fully in my life once more.

In addition to this, my ways of relating to the world began to shift as I started to recognize old behavior patterns and mindsets that were no longer serving me. I began to adopt more mindful, loving and gentle ways of being, both with myself and with others.

This work is very deep, very transformative and very profound, and Michelle is a wise and compassionate guide. Both she and NeuroMovement have been instrumental parts of my healing journey. I am grateful that my pain offered me the opportunity to work with Michelle, ushering in valuable life transformations that I might have otherwise missed.

Thank you, Michelle!"

"Michelle's insights and knowledge about how a body moves and connects to mind has been so helpful for me to experience. She is supportive, focused and encouraging...and so patient.....she is a great mirror for me to learn with....loving it all"

Gayle, Victoria - BC

"Michelle is lovely to work with, either with adults or children. I saw her when I was in a lot of pain and in just one session, noticed a considerable difference. Michelle also showed me how to do the movements on my own so that I'm not dependent on someone else to remind my body how it's supposed to move!

I also had Michelle work with my 10 year old son. I was impressed with her ability to connect with him and form a trusting relationship quickly. I could tell how much she loves working with children... and was also pleased to see how well my son responded to her sessions."

Monica, Victoria - BC

"I have been taking NeuroMovement classes with Michelle for a few weeks now and so far I must say how enjoyable the classes are, how energized I feel, and look forward to being there. She is a warm and caring teacher."

"I independently injured both of my knees in the past year and had some success with physiotherapy and acupuncture treatments. I had heard about Michelle's Anat Baniel NeuroMovement work through friends and so decided to see if it would help. I started with group classes and immediately found them gentle and effective. In conversations with Michelle I came to realize that this method deals with the alignment and functions of the entire body. From here I went to single private sessions and then to a six session intensive treatment over the course of three days. It was during the latter treatment series that the effects of ABM compounded in a significant way. Michelle saw that my pelvis was constricted and so we effectively worked together to free it up and help it function effectively with my spine, shoulders, knees, ribs and neck. I'm walking fluidly now and with more natural energy, both in my step and my life.

I feel that Michelle has a strong intuitive sense enhanced by her own intensive training in this method. I also feel that she channels healing powers through her hands. She works patiently and communicates effectively. I feel grateful to have taken this step with Michelle toward improved health."

Jerry, Victoria - BC

"Have started Hypopressives with Michelle as well as going to her ABM class series and am loving it. She’s knowledgeable, personable and I am really enjoying the relaxation and awareness its bringing to my life. I can’t wait to do more!"

Crystal Victoria - BC

"Amazing! I must admit I was skeptical at first - since having children I was used to living in pain and discomfort, and no amount of acupuncture, massage therapy and physio had helped - but my colleague could not say enough great things about Michelle and ABM: 'changed her life', 'no more back pain' (whhaaaat???), 'nothing short of miraculous', all through "little movements". So of course I had to check it out, anything to get rid of my chronic back pain.

Meeting Michelle put me at ease right away. We worked on one side the first day; I felt completely discombobulated - there was such a clear difference in how my body felt, as thought I had been split in half - yet it was important that I stay with that difference and experience it. Days later we worked on the second side. Incredible! Subsequent visit made me more mindful and helped me realize how I sit, stand and walk contribute to my aches and pains, so it's a practice...and what a difference!

Thank you Michelle Mark- Holistic Movement - you changed the way I get up out of bed in the morning, the way I stand when I talk to people, how I throw the ball for my dog, how I sit at my desk...I have been back pain-free for months!"

"Vancouver island is extremely lucky to have Michelle! She's a grounded, solid and knowledgeable practitioner. She approaches the body with gentle movements and brings awareness that help the body find it's ease. I highly recommend her to any individual seeking relief from chronic pain, neurological disorders and for children who want to feel confident and comfortable in their bodies."

Kristin, Vancouver - BC

"I met Michelle while on vacation and upon hearing about my two years of chronic feet pain, she insisted I try a treatment (which I was already convinced might help). I had tried all forms of therapy up to this point. So, amidst interruptions from bats, lizards and crying babies Michelle lead my body through the motions. My feet have never looked back (actually they have moments of wanting to, but I am able to change their behavior by using the tools Michelle shared with me). I highly recommend Michelle's lessons!!!"

Yael, Vancouver - BC

"Michelle did a three day intensive session with my oldest daughter who struggles with ADD and difficulty falling asleep. It was quite amazing to watch Michelle work, her depth of knowledge and understanding of the body. My daughter enjoyed the experiences, as Michelle has a beautiful manner with kids, however my daughters engagement with her activities and the ease with which she fell asleep those evenings was the biggest gift!"

"Dear Carolyn, thank you for the amazing session. I must say I had no idea what to expect, and I was surprised at how incredible I felt afterwards. At the beginning of the session, when you asked us to scan our bodies, I distinctly felt my left side was longer than my right side. Very unbalanced. After the session, I felt more aligned, less tense and calm and relaxed. Describing it to My husband, I said it felt like a combination of a good massage/acupuncture/chiropractic session mixed in with meditation.

I appreciate you including me. I will definitely join again."

Suman, California

"My 3 year old started complaining of a soar neck after a day full of activity outside.  She had fallen a couple of times throughout the day, but had seemed fine at the time.  That evening she began to complain of a sore neck.  She began to cry, saying it really hurt.  We tried to soothe the muscles in her neck with essential oils and a heating pad, but these had little effect. In hopes that sleep would help, we decided to give her some children’s Tylenol.  The next morning she was in pain again.  I thought of calling a chiropractor, but it was a Saturday.  My husband suggested calling Carolyn, pointing out that her gentle methods would likely go over better with our little one.

Carolyn came over to give our daughter a treatment.  Our little girl was relaxed the whole time.  By the end, was pain free, and has been ever since.

We highly recommend Carolyn! Thank you for sharing your skills and gifts with us once again!”
